Methodology

The scoring model is fixed and rule-based. No generative AI is used to produce results, and no scores are shown while you answer.

Question and domain weighting

Each domain has one critical question weighted at 30% and four supporting questions weighted at 17.5% each. Domain scores are combined using fixed enterprise weights.

  • Automation15%
  • Governance15%
  • Work Redesign15%
  • Data15%
  • Workforce Intelligence10%
  • Talent8%
  • Manager Enablement7%
  • Trust & Adoption7%
  • HR Operating Model4%
  • Casework4%

Investment priority

Opportunity gap is business value multiplied by the distance from Stage 5. Risk gap is risk exposure multiplied by the same distance. Model-led priority is 60% opportunity and 40% risk. Your strategic priority then applies a multiplier — Low 0.85, Moderate 1.00, High 1.15, Critical 1.25 — with a floor of 1.00 for Automation, Governance, Work Redesign and Data so structural weaknesses cannot be de-prioritised away.

Hard gates

  • Governance below Stage 3 caps overall maturity at Augmented HR.
  • Work Redesign below Stage 3 caps overall maturity at Augmented HR.
  • Automation at or above Stage 4 with Work Redesign below 3 raises a sequencing flag.
  • Data below 3 with high automation or analytics ambition raises a reliability flag.
  • Rapid work redesign with low trust or manager capability raises a readiness flag.

Evidence confidence

Every answer records the evidence behind it. "Don't know" is a valid response: it scores conservatively at Stage 1 and contributes no evidence, and two or more in a domain raises an evidence warning on the results.

Dispositions

Every recommendation maps to one of six dispositions: Act now, Build foundations, Redesign first, Control risk, Optimise selectively, or Defer / retain human.
